Press release – Choisy Laboratories
Choisy Laboratories Ltd., a leader and specialist in the development of chemical and biotechnological hygiene solutions “for a clean environment” for over 70 years, is pleased to announce the acquisition of GDG ENVIRONNEMENT INC. The Trois-Rivières company specializes in biological applications to control biting insects in an effort to reduce the annoyance they cause and prevent the risk of diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, such as the West Nile virus, as well as to protect our forest heritage from pests such as the emerald ash borer and the spruce budworm.
GDG Environnement has a team of more than 35 full-time employees, biologists and technologists, and some 300 seasonal workers. This unique centre of expertise in Canada works to develop and market biological environmental control and application methods. GDG Environnement uses its expertise all over the country, both to serve urban, agricultural and industrial environments and to protect the forest heritage.
In acquiring GDG Environnement and maintaining its fundamental mission, Choisy Laboratories is increasing its investments in the field of biological environmental applications while helping to diversify the GDG offer and accelerate its growth.
GDG Environnement headquarters will remain in Trois-Rivières. Ms. Isabelle Martin will continue to act as President and CEO of the company, with the help of the current management team. Mr. Guy L. Trudeau will act as Chairman of the GDG Environnement Board of Directors.
We are confident that this acquisition, which brings together major complementary strengths in a market with a very high potential given global warming and environmental requirements, will help all of our staff reach their full potential and ensure a significant growth for our partners and shareholders. We are therefore happy to share the news of this acquisition with you. It is a sure sign of future successes and expansion.
Finally, we would like to welcome everyone from GDG Environnement to the extended Choisy Laboratories Ltd. family.
President and CEO
Guy L. Trudeau
